Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What night are games played, and how many games are there per week?
Answer: Games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays.  Make up games will be scheduled for Thursdays, or Fridays.  Each team will have one game scheduled per week  There is the possibility that there will be a week or two where teams will have two games.  No games or practices will be held without an opponent.

Question: Is it OK to just drop my child off at the game, and pick her up afterwards?
Answer: Absolutely not.  NGRS is not a drop-off league, or a baby sitting service.  We strongly encourage parents to attend all of the games, and to participate in any capacity.

Question: My daughter was so dirty after playing on one of the stone dust diamonds that I had to give her a bath when we got home.  What's going on?
Answer: A player won't become any more dirty playing on a stone dust baseball field as oppposed to a field with grass and ordinary dirt.  However, I witnessed one player on the sidelines kneeling, and creating a large pile of stone dust with her hands.  She was enjoying the experience, and no one told her to stop.  Another player had made it to third base, knealt down on the base, and was engaging in the same behavior.  Had the field been made of ordinary dirt the result would have been the same.  It's bath time!  The problem here isn't the child, or the stone dust.  The problem is supervision.  Don't worry!  Stone dust is only crushed granite, and is harmless.
